For Teachers

WESEF Registration:

We will continue to utilize the online science fair organization, www.wesef.zfairs.org, for WESEF 2027. We will be using zFairs for teacher, student, and judge registration as well as for turning in all student paperwork. Before your students can register, you will have to register on our customized, zFairs website.

The basic timeline for student registration for the 2026 Regeneron WESEF is as follows:

​

• WESEF TEACHER registration opens September 15, 2026 and closes October 2, 2026.
  Teachers must register first and then work directly with their students to register them one at a time. Students cannot register on their own.

• Thursday, Oct. 1st - Science Research Teachers workshop (and dinner) at 141 Family Eatery in Thornwood 
  1006 Broadway, Thornwood, NY.

• WESEF STUDENT registration must be complete by Dec. 1, 2026 (Student Registration opens Oct 12).
  Please use the link provided directly to teachers to access the student registration; all students should register with assistance from their teachers.

• Student payment & purchase order information deadline is ​Dec. 1, 2026

• Students Upload Paperwork/Forms – All student paperwork must be uploaded by Dec 11, 2026.
  Students are responsible for uploading their own forms and paperwork ONLINE in order to qualify for Regeneron WESEF 2027. Students must use the zFairs platform to determine which forms will be needed for your project and upload signed PDF files for all required forms. Student paperwork must include Forms 1, 1A, 1B, 2A - NEW FORM -Student Support Disclosure Form (this form may be completed before or after experimentation). These form is required for ALL projects. ALL additional forms that are needed based on the project type (i.e. human subjects, vertebrate animals, etc…) as well as the WESEF Abstract, Research Paper, and Research Plan. Please double-check that you have uploaded the correct documents with all required signatures.

• Teachers Review Student Paperwork in zFairs Dec. 12-18. This must be completed by Dec. 18th, 2026. We are providing teachers with a window to carefully review student paperwork from Dec. 12-18

• ALL PAPERWORK must be submitted online.  No additional forms will be accepted after Dec. 18 -zFairs will be locked on Dec. 18.

• Final payment/purchase order deadline is Dec 18. WESEF Check/purchase order and school registration list must be postmarked by Dec. 18, 2026. See invoice for details.
  
  Please review every single document that has been uploaded by your students, checking that: 1) the correct form has been uploaded, 2) the form is complete and accurate, and 3) the form has all required signatures.​​

WESEF Payment

It is essential that you ONLY register students that you are very confident will be ready for WESEF with consideration of all of the rules and restrictions listed above in the Registration/SRC section.

​

The cost will be $100 per student for all registrations. Fee is non-refundable regardless if a student drops or is disqualified (due to student or teacher error).

​

Please plan ahead if your school/district will pay with a purchase order. There is usually a major delay between a request for payment (PO) and when the check is written. Final payment for purchase orders in the form of a school-issued check must be postmarked NO LATER than December 18th, 2026.

Judge Recruiting:

We appreciate your effort to help WESEF increase the number of judges we can recruit to match the increasing number of student participants. Your help with recruiting qualified judges is essential to the success of the fair, please review the judge requirements on our judges page.
